List of Group policies and what they do

  • Hi. Im trying to list what group policies are applies to a certain OU and what they do. Is there a way I can do this?

  • This is a little time consuming and tedious work.

    Open GPO Console and browse through the OU structure. 

    Each GPO will apply to the OU where is located and all sub-OUs, unless there is an explicit "Block Inheritance"

    What they do, you really have to look at them.

    which OS version are you talking about?

    You have to install/use Group policy management console either on a DC or admin workstation with the RSAT tools installed.

    With the GPMC you can see which GPOs are linked to the domain, site, OU.
