  • Hi,

If you've changed something recently on receive connector. And check the default setting on all receive connectors as following article:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996395%28v=exchg.160%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Meanwhile check the message size limit on all connector (also on Edge  Transport server if you have).

    Get-receiveconnector <connector name> | fl *size*

How many send connectors in your origination?

    Best regards,

  • If the test message is making it to your Exchange server, then the Exchange server is apparently sending it on somewhere that's sending it back.

First, is company.com an accepted domain in your Exchange organization?

Second, is admin@company.com an e-mail address that's configured on a mailbox?

  • Hi,

Please have a test (send test messages from internet to your users)to verify that if this issue affects one user or all of the users.

If this only affect one user please check as following:

    • Please ensure that your e-mail address is not created as contact or any forward rules for this user.
    • Please ensure that your e-mail address is not added in a distribution group and you set a forwarder for this address to the DG .

If this issue affect all the users, as Ed said please check if the domain company.com is your accept domain.

    Best regards,

  • Hello sir Ed,

yeah, the domain is on the accepted domain list, but am not sure with the second one, as far as I remember, there are no configurations made with each mailbox after the post installations.

  • Hello sir Jason,

As I checked, this issue is for the whole. I tried to send a message to all of our contacts in the exchange from Hotmail, all I got was a mailer daemon with delivery to the recipient failed.

btw, I got this error The server returned status code 554 - Transaction failed. The server response was: 5.4.6 Hop count exceeded - possible mail loop from the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer - test for inbound. Sending for local and to the internet is fully working.
