SCOM 2012 monitoring core services only for a handful of servers. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a number of servers which require monitoring core windows services regardless of what's installed on the servers. So I would like to monitor things like CPU, memory usage, server up time etc. I also have servers which are being monitored normally using the management packs but these few servers just require monitoring services I would like it to.

Is there a way to do this? I was thinking of creating a management pack for Windows OS for example and add the servers into a group. Then point the management pack to this group. Is this possible or are there steps on how to do this?

How can I stop SCOM from monitoring everything by default for a few servers only?
