  • Hi Relumal,

Based on your description, I want to confirm that which operation system have you used? Have you met any error messages when you tried to delete the blank folder?

We could try to use handle.exe to check if any process always hold this folder.

How to unlock files using handle.exe and process name?

  • Well, which operating system you are using?

    I don't think it's Windows Home Server.

Some possible reasons for not being able to delete a folder can be:

    • not enough permissions (take ownership, assign permissions, try again)
    • some file in it kept open - can also be a hidden file (try to close the application holding the file open, or try to delete the folder immediately after login without opening it)  or try from another account with admin rights; could also be malware
    • special characters used or special name normally forbidden for folder names (more details needed)

    Best greetings from Germany

  • What is the exact error message?

Have you tried deleting it when booting into safe mode?

What have you done to try and delete it.
