Handwriting Panel Problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Handwriting Input Panel no longer appears at Startup. I've temporarily fixed this by creating a shortcut for it to click after Windows loads. Tablet PC Components is checked in 'Turn Windows Features on or off.'

Splitting words no longer works in the Handwriting Input Panel.

For several days last week inputPersonalization.exe was using a consistent 50% of CPU. Don't know what made that problem stop.

These problems seemed to coincide with me uninstalling bamboo_setup_web0407final.exe, installing PenTablet_5.2.4-6.exe driver (didn't work for Adobe Photoshop), uninstalling it, re-installing bamboo_setup_web0407final.exe. The bamboo_setup_web0407final.exe driver and Handwriting worked flawlessly for at least a year before this recent development. This driver is correct and latest for the tablet. I have uninstalled and re-installed it 3X but the problems continue.

I do not have a Windows 7 Pro disk.

In addition to input Personalization.exe, current items in Task Manager > Processes are:

    Pen_Tablet.exe
    Memory: 11,600k
    Description: (blank)

    Pen_TabletUser.exe
    Memory: 1,900K
Description: Tablet User module for consumer driver

    Pen_TouchUser.exe
    Memory: 4,256k
    Description: Touch User Mode Driver

    Any suggestions?
