  • Hi, thanks for the post. Have you tried other user names in Windows SteadyState when creating an account? Regarding the locking user issue, I suggest you first try the following steps and see the result:

    Suggestion 1: Temporarily disable Antivirus applications

    Suggestion 2: Restart related service

    =============

    1.       Click Start, type "services.msc" in Start Search and press Enter.

    2.       Locate User Profile Service.

    3.       Change Start type to Automatic and Service status to Start.

    4.       Then, we can restart the computer and check the result.

    You can also try the following steps  to manually lock the profile:

    1. Open SteadyState on the computer, click the user profile under User Settings.

    2. Uncheck the “Lock profile to prevent the user from making permanent changes” option under General tab to unlock the user profile, click OK.

    3. Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\, please rename NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN

    Hope this helps!
