PS2010 - Auditing assignments in PWA RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

A customer wants to "audit" assignment information in PWA (i.e. with default views & fields, no custom code or reporting). Basically his needs are:

    1. Apart from the assignment owner, is it possible to allow other users view the "My Work" page for a given resource?

    2. Is it possible to add a field in a view (e.g. Resource Assignments ) to denote the date of the assignment (i.e. when the assignment was actually sent)?

    3. Is it possible to create a combined view for PMs with what assignements that have sent and what task updates they have received for a given project ? At the moment this is partially possible by visiting separate pages (Approval Center, Task Updates History, Assignments Summary).

    TIA

    1.  The only way to do this is through Delegation.  The auditor would need to create a Delegation session so he/she could work with PWA as the user he/she is auditing.

    2.  No, it is not possible in a Resource Assignments view to see the date the resource was assigned to the task.  Although there is a Created field available for use in Resource Assignments view, this field is a task field and not an assignment field, and shows the date the task was created, not the date the resource was assigned.

    3.  No, there is no default method to do this.  Your Project Server administrator might explore whether such a report can be created in the Business Intelligence Center or using SQL Reporting Services.

    Hope this helps.
