Task Updation does not show delay effect on the activity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi MSP 2010 Experts,

I have started using MSP 2010. Previously I have used MSP 2007.

How do you update activities in MSP 2010.   The activity is not rescheduling as it doesnt delay no matter what progress I enter. I am trying this way:

    1. Set Status Date
    2. From "Mark on Track"", I select "Update Tasks" then entr % complete value.

I purposely entered very less % complete value i.e 5% where more than 50% should've been completed. But the activity Finish date stays where it is - it's not showing the delay effect.  I follow the same above steps in MSP 2007 and i see the delay effect.

    Please advise

    Many thanks

Open the project in question and then click File > Options.  In the Project Options dialog, select the Advanced tab.  At the bottom of the Advanced page, select the Move Start of Remaining Parts Before Status Date Forward to Status Date checkbox.  You can also optionally select the And Move End of Completed Parts Forward to Status Date checkbox if you wish.  If you want to make these options the default for all new projects, click the Calculation Options for This Project pick list, select the All New Projects item, and then specify these settings a second time.  Click the OK button.  Hope this helps.
