    Hi Steve,

By Project Online mode is with SharePoint Security Mode.  In other words security will be managed by SharePoint

If you have on-prem installation you can change security mode to Project Mode, where you can find groups, categories etc.

    Hope this helps

  • thanks Hrishi, as I am just using Project Online, where can I find the settings in SharePoint to eg change a User so that he is a Project Manager instead of a Team Member?  I appear to have access to a lot of settings but can't find anything ressembling permissions?

  • Steve, if you have Administrator rights, from the Project Server PWA home page, you should see in the left hand quick navigation panel a link called Server Settings. The first block of commands in the Server Settings screen main area should be Security - and under this you have Manage Groups and Manage Categories.

If your screen doesn't have the Security commands, you're not an administrator.
