USB Keyboard and mouse stopped working after driver update in Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I only have USB ports on this desktop computer (no ps/2) and windows boots normal and into safe mode with no problem, but the keyboard and mouse do not work at all. This is a kensington keyboard and mouse and they stopped working after installing keyboard drivers including kensington mouseworks. Kensington knows this problem exists with vista but offers no solution. Tried plugging in other USB keyboards and mice with same problem. in BIOS and using boot disks the keyboard and mouse are fine.

Tried restore to last working configuration, tried repair, nothing has helped.

Is there a way to uninstall software and drivers from a boot disk or force windows to reinstall USB device drivers during boot?

Does anyone have any other suggestion to fix this problem?
