Registry/Driver Problem with NEC ND-3530 DVD Drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • After I installed Windows Vista RC1, my DVD burner drive is not working. I checked in device manager and the NEC ND-3530 is detected but not working due to a registry problem or a driver problem? Any help will be great, thanks.

  • I have the same drive, and found this in another forum post. I tried it and it worked for me.

    Was this post helpful ?

    Open RegEdit

    FindKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/Currentcontrolset/Control/Class/
    Right click on key: {4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    Export it to a safe place

    Now go to the right pane, and delete the keys named: UpperFilters and LowerFilters

    Close RegEdit and restart computer, windows will now reinstall drive, maybe this will help. If not, you can import back your safety copy you made earlier.

  • My reg value was different, started with 4d36e965 and was the only one that had the 965 so exported it, deleted the 4 keys (2 for upper, 2 for lower) and it worked like a charm! My drive is up & running again. THANKS!
