Project Professional 2016 not publishing to Project server 2019 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have just setup project server 2019 and I am using project professional 2016. I can save a project to Project server but I get the error below when publishing it.

    <detail><ServerExecutionFault<Actor i:nil="true"/><LastError>42</LastError><Message></Message><Source></Source><StackTrace></StackTrace><TargetSite i:nil="true"/><ExceptionDetails><errinfo xmlns=""><general><class name="General Unhandled Exception in _WinProj.QueuePublishWinProj_"><error id="42" name="GeneralUnhandledException" uid="447b641b-73f8-e811-966f-0050568d54ce" Exception="System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid.    at Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.DataAccessLayer.Generated.WorkflowDalBase.GetDefaultEPTAutoCreateField()    at Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.BusinessLayer.Admin.ReadWssSettingsWinProj()    at Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.BusinessLayer.Project.QueuePublishWinProj(Guid jobUid, Guid projectUid, Boolean fullPublish, String WssURL)    at Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Wcf.Implementation.WinProjImpl.<>c__DisplayClass90.<QueuePublish>b__8e()    at Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.BusinessObjectMethodInvocation.InvokeBusinessObjectMethod(String methodName, IEnumerable`1 actions)"/></class></general></errinfo></ExceptionDetails></ServerExecutionFault></detail>

    Please help.

All replies

  • It looks more like an issue with Issue or Risk list or the project site template.  From the browser, try creating a new project, saving and publishing.   Be sure to use the same template in PWA as you did from project pro.

  • Do you get this issue for all projects or just this one?
