MS project software to view .mpp RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is there a FREE piece of software which allows user to view MS P 2010 .mpp files? If so, what would you suggest.

Forums have suggested  and Moosproject viewer but there's now a cost involved.

No, I do not believe there are any free file viewers for Microsoft Project 2010 files.  If a Project 2010 user needs to share a file with you, I would recommend that he/she save the project as a PDF document so that you do not have this issue.  Hope this helps.

  • Nicholaswan,

For view a .mpp file, you can use other free software, but they do not have the same features as MS Project provides.

In addition to exporting .pdf as Dale Howard advised, you can also export reports to be read in MS Excel.

  • This may not be quite the answer you are looking for, but if the file is saved as an MPX rather than an MPP, it can be viewed and used in a program called Gantt Project.
