Added new volumes to a SOFS cluster - can't add in DPM RRS feed

  • Question

  • DPM Admin console > modify protection group > expand storage cluster > expand storage pool

New volumes aren't visible.  Have tried restarting the DPM clients on the cluster hosts.  Volumes have existed for 2wks+.

  • Hi,

DPM does not support protecting SOFS volumes.

The only workload DPM supports on SOFS cluster is Hyper-v protection for guests.

  • My mistake.  I've been referring to it as SOFS, but these volumes were just using the clustered file system.  Still not sure why we weren't initially able to add the new volumes, but we finally added them into DPM by recreating the protection group.
