Is there a limit on the number of psexec sessions opened at once (on target) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am using PsExec64 in PRTG sensors and I am getting sporadic "Access denied" errors on connections that sometimes do work. Because of the way the sensors work, it might be that several PsExec connections are made on the same time to the same server. So I wonder, can this be the cause for the errors? Is there a limit on the number of psexec sessions opened at once?

    Many thanks,

    Oren

  • PSexec install on the target a Service, psexecsvc. This can be installed once, and so probably when you get access denied it is because the first service is still alive..

luckily enough, you can specify the service name to create when running multiple session of it..

so use the -r parameter using a format where you add +1 to the name, like mysvc1, mysvc2, mysvc3 and so on,..
