Repositories in Microsoft R Open 3.4.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I would like to ask several questions around Microsoft R Open 3.4.0

    1. As soon as R Open 3.4.0 is installed, and we check for default selected repositories from Packages -> Select Repositories... location, we find that 2 repositories are selected by-default:

As per the documentation that comes with installation under Installation Directory/doc/NEWS.pdf, CRANextra repository is no longer a default repository on Windows. Can someone please throw some light on why there is difference in release notes and application behavior and if I'm missing anything here.

    2. Since CRAN and CRANextra repositories are being set by-default, I want to unselect them so that user can't see them as selected next time when application is launched. I found a file named as 'repositories' under Installation Directory/etc folder. This file contains list of all the repositories used by setRepositories()

If I remove repositories from this file or set value to FALSE, only remaining repositories are shown at Packages -> Select Repositories... location. But even if I delete CRAN or CRANextra location, it does not reflect changes.

Could you please suggest a method to do this task.

    3. Can we alter default repository settings via file under Installation Directory/etc path.
