    We will be implementing ROM to service multiple clients but one of the aspects that we feel  is important would be the ability to aggregate inventory for proactive reasons.

    Example Data:

         Company | Computer Name | IP Address | CPU | Memory | HD | MAC 

    1.)    Compan | PC1  |10.27.4.50| Intel 2.3 |1024mb | 160GB|aoc123

    2.)    “”                            “”

    3.) ""                             ""

    SCE currently has reports but they are not customizable enough for a proactive approach will the additional ROM manager allow this?

    Hi Xing1010 -

     

    With the ROM solution deployed, the Service Provider's OM 07 instance will include all their customers' managed computers. It is possible to aggreate the inventory across customers. That would be your choice when selecting the parameters for your report. For example, you could elect to include objects from multiple customers in a report.

     

    The ROM management pack does not extend the reporting features of OM 07 itself. If there is not an inventory report suitable for you, for example one that has the "Example Data" like you listed in your post, then you can create custom reports using the SQL Report Builder.

     

    OM 07 uses the full SQL Server 2005 product, and Report Builder is included with SQL Server 2005. You should be able to accomplish your objective with the ROM solution.

    Thanks John,

     

    This was the awnser I was looking for.

     

    Hopefully this report is already included as it's probably the kind of information that would be needed each quarter since most companies work based on a quarterly budget for things like upgrades.
