Slide Library RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are running Sharepoint 2007 and Office 2010.

I have set up a Slide Library so that heads of department in my organisation can edit their particular slides (weekly) and once that is done, create a PowerPoint presentation on the fly and present it to the board.

There is no requirement really to save the actual presentation except for recordkeeping as far as I can see.

Ths issue I am having is that when I select the slides I want in the presentation, then click on "Copy Slide to Presentation", the powerpoint that is generated starts on the last slide. Is there a way to default it to the first slide instead? This way I can simply click on the wee icon to start the presentation and it will begin from the start (not at the end as it currently behaves).

I hope this makes sense, and thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer. I have searched these forums for anything related to this and came up empty.

    Kind regards,

    Matt

  • I'd have to agree with this response.. I've tried this a few times now myself and no obvious manner of dictating where the slide should go appears in the entire process.

  • IF it is possible to create it, it is custom code.

HOWEVER BE aware of the fact that in new versions (SharePoint 2013 / SharePoint Online 2013/O365) the Slide library can not be created anymore. (existing libraries can be migrated, however you can ask yourself if that is wise to do)

Check the list of discontinued features:
