Site Content and Structure: View reports RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    Consider following scenario:

    - I have created a standard team site (let's call it top) in Sharepoint 2007
    - I have created a sub-site (let's call it sub) underneath this site and enabled the publishing feature
    - I can see the Site Actions --> View reports in sub
    - If I select one of the reports to view (let's say Last modified by me)
    - The site content & structure shows up but the view is default (no matter which view i take)
    - Now when i enable the publishin feature on Top, everything is working fine for the sub-site.

So my question would be, why would i need to enable the publishing feature on the top site for it to work on sub sites.

    Regards, Rammie

  • Hi Rammie ,

Here is what I understand , hoping to help .

The feature being activated (publishing feature) is a Site scoped feature , it has a dependency on a Site Collection scoped feature which has not been activated. so ,if we enable the features in a site and the feature has a dependency in a big scope , we also need to activated it on top , There are other features that have similar dependencies .

    Best Regards ,
