How to safely unmap a san lun fro windows2003

    Request you to let me know how to unmap SAN LUN from windows 2003.

  • What is your environment like , do you have a RDM to your Win 2003 Server? 

    Also Can I ask what hardware SAN you have in your environment? It depends on the storage vendor you have . Mapped LUNs are seen from Win2003 as a single Disk drive . So please contact your vendor – they might have easy commands for you to run. 

    however, please have a look at the Mountvol command

    Go to the HBA or software initiator (no idea do you have FC? iSCSI? Hardware? Software?) GUI and click "Disconnect".
