Hi
I am trying to learn subinacl by using the /display action. Ultimately I want to use it to correct some owners and permissions.
As a test, using an elevated command prompt, this worked on a file on the C: drive;
subinacl /file C:\Users\Owner\Music\Recordings\Atkins\AtkinsEdited.xls /display
The same command used on the same file(a backup) on a local shared external drive failed;subinacl /file \\EXTERNALDRIVE\Public\BackUp-Music\Recordings\AtkinsEdited.xls /display
UNC addressing was required because the path was not found using the mapped letter (S:)
The message was "No Previous Object Opened". What does that mean and how do I correct it? Is there a source for subinacl error messages?
Thanks
