Skype for Business kept restarting RRS feed

  • I got the following message every time I tried to use some of the functions within skype to bring up another window of another contact. It's a company-wide issue. Any help to our Desktop Support will be helpful.

    To narrow down your issue, I want to confirm:
    1. Would you please post the whole message or error?
    2. When does this issue occur? Which function do you mean? Does it occur on all Skype for Business client?

    Normally, to troubleshoot Skype for Business client issue, we can try:
    1. Install Skype for Business update, and update to date.
    2. To prevent add-in affect, run it safe mode (lync.exe /safe).
    3. Clear the Skype for Business cache:
        a. Navigate to the %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync folder.
        b. Delete your sip profile folder.
         c. Go into the Tracing folder, delete the all files, but not the folders).
    4. To prevent application affect, try Windows clean boot, and test the results.

  • Was windows or skype application updated before such issue? I'd follow the steps mentioned by Allen.
