How to pick current/previous date using cubes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
Using SSAS we are trying to analyse Data for sales orders based on current and previous dates.

In cubes we are using calculated members for that, now the problem is that we are unable to pick/get the current/previous date info for comparison/analyse the data/records.

Please advise us on how to get the date info which includes complete date info/year/month from the system date current basis.

    Regards, Suba

  • Hi,

I havent totally understood your requirement. However if you need any time period caluclations, you could define the hierarchy in the cube and with the help of current member function you could get the current/previous time period.

    Please provode addditional info.

  • I believe this question is better suited for the Analysis Services forums - http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlanalysisservices/threads.

Are you actually trying to use this to create something in PerformancePoint?  If so, could you provide some details as to what you are trying to do?

If you already have the calculated members you should already be able to reference these items, so not sure what the issue is.  Maybe you should let us know what you are seeing currently and what you want to see.

If you need more help in setting these up to provide the information you are looking for then you might want to take a look at Mosha's post here - http://sqlblog.com/blogs/mosha/archive/2007/05/23/how-to-get-the-today-s-date-in-mdx.aspx.
