Report on Daily restarts RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a manual Task to restart couple of web servers on daily basis. we normally keep the server in maintanance mode for 15min under OperationsManager =>Agent => Agent Health State and then go the Monitoring => Computers and find the server and restart it. everythign from console itself.

Now i need to pull out a report for this daily activity for the last quater and see if any my teammate has missed any restarts. We are using SCOM SP1.

please let me know if i am not clear.

  • You should be able to use the "Event Analysis" report in the generic report library. It allows you to filter based on event id. I believe you can then also save the report to your favorites.

  • Hi,
If you run the avability report for those machines you should see a nick each time you report the server. Also if you know a special event that generates each time you restart the machines, like something from the shutdown tracker, you can generate a event/alert repot based on it.

  • I've documented how to run an availability report here:
    http://systemcentersolutions.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/availability-reporting1.pdf

There is also a discussion here:

You can set what is "downtime" in the top right corner of the report parameters.

    Cheers
