Add an "Upload" button to PDP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using SP 2010 and Project Server 2010.  I want to create a project detail page with a upload button.  Is this something that would require custom webpart development?  Your help is always appreciated.

  • If you defintely want an UPLOAD button in a PDP, yes, that would require customization.

However, a good (and right in y opinion) way to do this is to add the Workspace List Viewer Solution Starter.

Take a look at this thread:

  • Thanks for your reply.  I did come across the link in your post, just didn't think it would require all that for an upload button.  Maybe you can provide some advice in my scenario.  I have created project site templates which include some document libraries.  Project Site Template is attached to an EPT.  I have a workflow in place for the EPT.  I want to include an upload button on a PDP which will add documents to the document libraries, those created when new EPT is created.

  • That's exactly what the Workspace List Viewer will allow you to do.

You could probably try and achieve this using some Jquery/JavaScript Wizadry, try posting it in the Project Server Customization forums.

  • Thanks all for your advice.  I have end up creating a custom web part control since opening Workspace Solution Starter gave me "bad warning message".  I have a next line of questions which i will be asking in customization forums.

    Happy Coding!
