  • Question

  • Submitted a project for cancellation and once the workflow was submitted and the save job queued, instead of opening back up to the Project Workflow page, it gave me the below error message.

A workflow step got failed and caused the issue. We need to revert that step i.e. move the project just one step back in workflow.

  • Hi Siddharth,

Do you have any required field in the workflow stage? Also is the project required to be checked out?

Finally, you should check for the ULS log in order to have a more detailed error message, since the one you provided is quite generic.

    Hope this helps,

  • Siddharth,

Unless you built some kind of state machine logic into your workflow, the only option is to use the "Change or Restart workflow" option under Server Settings, and set it to the stage you want it to be in.

Without the state machine (or similar) logic, the workflow cannot be moved 'back' just one step.
