Sync Thumbnails - Media Center to Photo Gallery to Windows Media Player - to ALL USERS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all a trivia query for you...

Windows Photo Gallery - an application that creates thumbnails for all pictures and video files it can find

WIndows Media Player - as above

Windows Media Center - as above

ALL THREE seperately cache thumbnails for pictures and video

Hence if you have put 1000 JPG, 100 AVI and 500 MP3 in a public folder - each time a user logs into the machine, and opens the above three apps, the disk goes bananas building a NEW seperate unique cache!!!!!!!  WHY!!

one user = 3 caches - that is three duplicates, that in reality take many hours to build

two users ...6 caches - you know where i am going.....

Surely there must be a CENTRAL cache solution out there, like adobe CS3 has for files - namely one cache used by all apps.

    - that can be exportable

MS, or someone, it does not make rational sense to have above.  If for example someone walks into my house, and I have media sharing on, instead of copying over a 100mb database cache file, it dumbly starts rebuilding all over again the caches.

Anyone out there with any thoughts............
