Access Denied Error Messages RRS feed

  • I've used MAPT many times across domains. I'm currently doing it for 300 workstations that are not on a domain and all have separate credentials to connect. I'm getting access denied errors in my inventory report. In troubleshooting I found that when I try to connect to \\PC01\c$ - \\PC01\Admin$ using local admin credentials it fails to connect. I've made several changes attempting to fix the issue that I've found online. Interesting after a reboot it fixed one of the systems but not the next two. Still battling the issue. Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks

    1. Account configured as local admin

    2. Verify Firewall is disabled

    3. Local Security Policy | Local Policies | Security | LAN Manager authentication level - Send LM & NTLM

    4. regedit, HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanServer\Parameters DWORD - Level2Compatibility - 1

  • I found the answer to this, it was a UAC reg change, as well as firewall on some systems.

  • Try to use your username as domain\login in credential field.
