  • Hi! Have you made sure that your current account has permissions to the database? Is the database located locally or remotely? Best regards, Leon

  • Make sure the 'DOMAIN\SCOMSERVER' account exists in AD. And also make sure you have selected "SQL Server Authentication" mode for user you created from Server -> Security -> Logins option.

If you get a failure like Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\MACHINENAME$' it means that a process running as NETWORK SERVICE or as LocalSystem has accessed a remote resource, has authenticated itself as the machine account and was denied authorization.

Try granting the login privileges to the account "domain\machinename$” in the remote SQL Server. For more information, refer to the following link:

  • AD = Active Directory, in your domain.

The error message shows there are no sql server with this name, which you are using. Suggest you to use windows authentication using ad account and give the privilege to same account as a sysadmin over server. Now check and revert with outcomes.

  • Also make sure you did choose "Remote database server", since you mentioned the database was remote.
If you did choose the correct choice, how did you enter the "Remote database server machine name" ?

As GouravIN mentioned, the error 67 indicates that the server cannot find the machine.

Since it's trying to connect to a named instance, make sure the SQL Server Browser service is started on the SQL Server computer.
