Migration Error

Question
-
I am trying to migrate data from 2007 to 2012. I am getting the following error:
"The specified source hierarchy contains one or more site codes in use by the Configuration Manager 2012 hierarchy. To continue, you must remove the site from either the Configuration Manager 2007 or Configuration Manager 2012 hierarchy."
How do I resolve this issue? I've removed the secondary sites from the Configuration Manager 2007 and I am still receiving this error. The primary site from 2007 has the same site code as 2012.

Well, instead of doing all of that, I think I am just going to not migrate anything. We do not want to change our site codes and were only collecting hardware/software information with SCCM 2007.
For the computers that have the 2007 client installed, will SCCM 2012 detect this and uninstall that version and reinstalled SCCM 2012 client?

you will have to migrate the 2007 clients to 2012 via one of the different mechanisms (client push, software distrib, gpo, manual install, ...)
in the meantime you can already configure hardware & software inventory in the client settings section
