Windows 8.1 4.6 sp3 client not seeing packages RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, can anyone clear this up for me. We have a windows 8.1 x64 4.6 sp3 client, it can only see applications that have no operating system tags set. If I add <OS VALUE="Win864"/> we are not seeing any packages.

    Many thanks

Answers

  • I just created a dummy package with the 4.6 SP3 sequencer, I can confirm the OS Value for Windows 8.1 x64 is "Win8164".

    <OS VALUE="Win8164"/>

  • Hello,

    I honestly haven't found any reference for App-V 4.6 SP3 and what the OS-tag is for Windows 8.1.

    I suggest you install the latest sequencer (App-V 4.6 SP3) create a single (dummy) package and set it to only be applicable for Windows 8.1 and then afterwards check the OS-tag.

  • Is there a specific reason why you need that OS VALUE tag at all? Most people tend to remove all OS entries, as this doesn't cause any pain with new OS versions
