Formatting craziness when opening .docx file on my computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • There is a .docx file that looks normal on the other computers in the office, but when I open in on my computer the formatting is way off. Tables are halfway onto the nex page, pictures are in the wrong place. I thought my problem initially was that I was running Office 2007. I have since installed Office Professional 2010 and the problem persists. Any thoughts?

  • Do you have a different printer set as default printer?

  • Yes. Would this affect the appearance of the document on the screen? I just changed my default printer and it didn't seem to make a difference...

  • Word uses printer information to format a document, but apparently this isn't the cause of your problem.
