Windows 7 is running slow using Standard MS Project 10 with a Master Schedule/Resource Pool running 20 Projects. But XP works fine??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I' am currently running Windows 7 which is causing a 30sec delay opening the Master Schedule & about 50sec to close. The other 2 computers are running XP & only take 5sec to open & 15sec to close, looks like it might be a Registry issue & we cannot find a fix as yet for this. Have you incountered this before.

  • Are you using same antivirus application on XP and Win 7?

  • Which version of Project? If 2077 make sure you have SP3 installed. Do not use Project again until you do have SP3 installed. If Project 2010 try SP1.

  • Fred LLY,

If you suspect a registry setting, then it's probable that this is a registry setting that you changed.  AFAIK Microsoft provides no recommendations on registry changes in support of a Microsoft Project installation.  Go back and look at your records on what registry changes you made and see if they might have an impact on this issue.

My hunch this is a system (software or hardware) problem completely unrelated to Project.  Project should have no problem like this.
