SCCM 2007 RDL from SCCM 2012 RDL? RRS feed

Answers

  • 1. Open the SSRS console for the 2012 site in IE, find the report, and select download from the drop down menu. This will save an RDL for you.

    2. Open the SSRS console for the 2007 site in IE. Select upload file, choose the RDL saved in step 1, done.

  • OK, looks like different versions of SSRS.

You can try opening the report from 2012 in Report Builder and then save it on the 2007 SSRS. That should take care of the difference.

  • During the upload I got an error:

The report definition is not valid. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition'
    which cannot be upgraded.(rsInvalidReportDefinition)

What version of SQL are you using for SSRS? You can't downgrade RDL versions.

  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.4060.00 (SQL 2005)

Your reports must be written for SSRS 2005, that means only BIDS 2005 or Report Builder 1.0. Nothing else will work with SSRS 2005. This also means you can write the report in BIDS 2005 and apply it to all versions of SQL but your can't downgrade SSRS 2008 R2 RDL to SSRS 2005.

    BTW SQL 2005/SSRS 2005 died April 12, 2016.
