Disable custom tab created in word document through policy RRS feed

  • how to disable the custom tab created in word document through policy as we have multiple users in the LAN and it has to be done through policy . Version used is 2013.

    any specific commands ?

  • You could simply delete the Word15.CustomUI file on each computer.

    Or, are you talking about disabling the ability to create a custom tab?

    Do you mean you want to prevent users from creating customized tab on Word Ribbon? If this is the case, I'm afraid there is no method to prevent users from creating new tabs to Word Ribbon. However, there is a group policy called "Turn off user customizations via UI", which can be used to prevent users from customizing both the Quick Access Toolbar and Ribbon through the user interface (UI).
