Windows update and Standalone Installer Not Working RRS feed

    I want to confirm that if there is error when you use the Windows Update. We could try restart the Windows Update Service. Run and 'elevated' Command Prompt , type CMD into the Start Menu then right-click the result & 'Run as Administrator.

    1. Stop the automatic updates client component service (type net stop wuauserv in Command Prompt);
    2. From explorer navigate to the C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder delete all files & folders;
    3. Restart the automatic updates service (type net start wuauserv in Command Prompt);
    4. Re-Run Windows Update.

    Then we could try reset Windows Update components. Please check the link in the below.


    If these steps don’t work, please upload windows update logs to a file sharing service like Onedrive and put a link to them in your reply for further research.
