Windows updates to be allowed for Power Users RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the organization that I work, we configure end users on desktop pcs & laptops as Power Users. As a result, windows updates never run, due to insufficient privileges. Is there a way to modify a local policy similar to gpedit.msc to allow power users to run windows updates or is there an alternative way?

  • Hi Ajax70

The goal can be achieved by configurator the “windows update ”setting in local group police or  domain police if your client computers are running in  an active directory environment. If you would like to have updates downloaded and installed automatically, you may choose the “Auto download and schedule the install” option in the “Configure Automatic Updates” group policy.

Here is an article for you reference
