Managment Point and AD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

    I have a question about management points and AD.

    We used to have an SMS 2003 site and did a side by side upgrade to SCCM 2007 SP1. Today I was looking in an LocationServer log file and found this string.

    <![LOG[Retrieved local Management Point from AD: OLD-SMS-Server]LOG]!>

    When I opened up ADSI Edit CN=System Management I see following entries

    CN=SMS-MP-ACM-OLD-SMS-Server

    CN=SMS-MP-ACU-NEW-SMS-Server

    CN=SMS-SLP-ACM-OLD-SMS-Server

    CN=SMS-SLP-ACU-NEW-SMS-Server

    Is it safe to delete the 2 entries for the old SMS server?

    Our SMS site work fine otherwise so this would be considered house cleaning.

    Thanks

    ~Jorgen

  • Yes, assuming that site is dead and gone, deleting those two objects is harmless.
