  • Hi,

Windows security requires a user profile for each user account on a computer. The system automatically creates a local user profile for each user when the user logs on to the computer for the first time. The system automatically maintains the settings for each user's work environment in a user profile on the local computer.

A temporary user profile is issued each time an error condition prevents the user's profile from loading. Temporary profiles are deleted at the end of each session, and changes made by the user to their desktop settings and files are lost when the user logs off.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

Is the account the domian user?

Based on my knowledge, in highly managed environments (corporations), system administrators may set up user profiles on a centralized server, so that users log onto any machine and have available their files and settings. This is accomplished by copying the user profile from the server when the user logs on and copying it back to the server when the user logs off.

In an environment where users are permitted to use more than one computer and where roaming user profiles are in use, it is recommended that temporary and local computer settings not roam with users.
