Hi Zeeshan.Butt,
If you want to contact with Skype users, you need to add the users as contact in the SFB client, then you could contact them. Please make sure you have done this.
According to your description, you could not send IM to Skype directory and External contact. It seems the federation have some problems.
1. For the O365 federation, please make sure you have configured your on-premise Edge service to federation with O365, details you could refer to the official document: Configure your on-premises Edge service to federate with Office 365.
If this is set correctly, you could also try to delete the Hosted provider and re-create a new one, and then check again:
2. For the Skype federation, please check the steps provided in the following blog: Step-By-Step: Skype Connectivity Configuration with On-Premise Skype for Business 2015.
In addition, you could try to check whether there’re any Event errors in the FE Servers when users try to contact with external users.Best Regards,
Evan Jiang

Thanks Evan,
Yes Its works fine you always very helpful. Its work perfectly fine with default sip domain configured. But for second domain in multidomain or Hosted platforms environment(like secondsipdomain.com) if we add external contact from skype online we get “federation | Presence unknown status”. and fail to communicate.
- SRV record (Tenant domain) require for federation Done
- Skype for Business Server is allowing External communication Already allowed.
We have one front end server with internal certificate. One edge and one Reverse proxy server with valid ssl name for with defaultsip domain. For every second domain we are using SRV record to save the cost of extra certificate. All function works fine but federation is not working with skype online.
Is there any limitation provided by Microsoft or am I missing something.

Hi Zeeshan.Butt,
For the second SIP domain, you need to add it as additional SIP domain in your Topology Builder, you also need to add the DNS records and SANs about this for certificates in the SFB Servers. Details you could refer to the following document: Adding Additional Sip Domains to Already Deployed Lync Environment.

Thanks evan,
I have added sip domain in topology builder and DNS setting as well correctly configured. We can connect using autodiscovery via skype for business client. We are one wildcard certficate for all hosted domain. for second sip domain we are using Cname to resolve to valid first sip domain. all works fine but i cannot get federated with office 365.
