Does anyone know if the requirement of four client cores for a single server core can be reduced? RRS feed

  • Question

  • For a dual quard-core server we would need 32 client cores, which translates to lots of client PCs.

thanks in advance for the info.

  • The 4:1 client core to server core ratio is a recommendation. it really depends on how far you would want to test out the server. If you just want to simulate a couple of hundreds of the users, even a single client PC would be sufficient, but if you want to simulate tens of thousands of users, you will need a lot more client PCs.
What is your goal of the testing? If you are trying to find the capacity boundaries of the dual quard-core server, you will need quite a few client PCs to drive the load, otherwise, you will be client bound before the server hits any bottleneck.
