Elimination of "on printerservername" in Devices & Printers

    Question

  • I am deploying printers via group policy in a network environment. We have one print server but I do not want the name of the print server to be evident or visible to endusers. Is there any way to not have the name show in the description under Devices and Printers (printer on printerserver)

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

As far as I know, there is no such settings to hide the printer names. But, you could hide Devices within the Devices and Printers GUI.

Besides, I suggest you could set the permission. When you are sharing the printers in--->Properties ----> Security Tab ----> get the permission only to user you want.
