Exchange server 2007 SP1 with future DC upgrades to windows server 2008 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are  planning to make the upgrade of the DCs from the environment from Windows Server 2003 R2 to Windows Server 2008 R2 but from what I do understand there will be issues between the domain controllers with Windows Server 2008 R2 and the Exchange Servers  even if they remain on Windows Server 2003. The issues that I have heard about are the DCs not answering calls you will have unresponsive exchange servers issues the GAL and that you will need to keep a few Windows Server 2003 DCs that could handle the work and run the set-exchangeserver command to set some static domain controllers.

So my main question would resume to can I upgrade all my DC to Windows Server 2008 R2 keeping all the Exchange Servers on Windows Server 2003 R2. And it what it would affect me?
