Skype for Business Interface broken after last update RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI,

After last update (first release) i am unable to use Skype for Business. Interface is broken and only shows up Microsoft Copyright information.

    S4B Version: 16.0.8326.2052
    Windows 10 Creators Update 15063.483

I tried sfc /scannow, Office Online Repair and deleting the Profile. Nothing helps.

    Any idea for a solution?

  • Hi Sven Jansen (NBA),

    Welcome to our forum.

Would you please tell us did the issue only appeared on the specific SFB client?

For this issue, please try the following troubleshooting steps

    1. Use another computer test if there is the same issue.
    2. For your computer, please try to perform a clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135
    3. If the issue only appeared on the specific client, it proves that the issue is a client issue, SFB server has no issue.
    4. If possible, please try to reinstall the SFB client and then test again.

    Regards,

    Alice Wang

  • Same issue here, after installing a new laptop with the Office 365 ProPlus.

  • Problem occurs when user credentials aren't saved. My guess is that the UI is broken and the credential box doesn't show.

  • Hi,

I have the same issue on a new Laptop with

    Windows 10 v1703 build 15063.483 and

Skype for Business v 16.0.8326.2062 (Office 365 ProPlus click-to-run installation).

Performing a clean boot, deleting SFB and the user profile did not help.

    Kind regards,

    Guy

  • The issue has been reported solved by using deferred channel as I advised.

    Reported solved here:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/0a1d3ff1-2ae7-4332-b43d-00ec18dc4b9e/sfb-shows-strange-window-after-new-installation?forum=sfbfr

I see where the problem lies now, you are using "Current Channel" to download the "latest" Office 365 Suite as mentioned below. I can see that your version is higher than mine.

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Overview-of-update-channels-for-Office-365-ProPlus-9ccf0f13-28ff-4975-9bd2-7e4ea2fefef4#bkmk_cbb

To resolve your issue, I think you have to downgrade or download Office Suite from "Deferred Channel" instead.

Please refer to the following article to download from "Deferred Channel" or downgrade Office version:

  • Skype for Business v 16.0.8326.2062 (german) did not display the menu bar

Skype for Business v 16.0.8326.2062 (english) was OK

I switched the user back to deferred channel and

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi,

Did you use localized version of Skype for business or is this EN-US?
