AD FS 3.0 Capacity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Is there any statistics showing how many users can be handled by one AD FS 3.0 server (concurrent and non-concurrent). We are considering to add more AD FS servers in our existing server farm.
I read this page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-fs/design/planning-for-ad-fs-server-capacity. it does not have much information about it.

Where are two capacity planning spreadsheet is for AD FS 2.0 and AD FS 4.0. Only AD FS 4.0 spreadsheet list some information:

"Per AD FS PG lab testing, a 8 core machine can do up to 100 logins / second to max out the CPU. Adjusting for production usage to be 60% of this theoretical value".

Is it suitable for AD FS 3.0?
