Updating from 32 bit vista to 64 bit Windows 7 RRS feed

  • I am updating my system from 32 bit vista and want to go to 64 bit windows 7.  Will i need to go to 32 bit windows 7 first, if so will i be able to upgrade to 64 bit windows 7 from there?

  • There is no upgrade path from a 32-bit operating system to a 64-bit operating system - a clean install of the 64-bit O/S is required.
    You can obtain the 64-bit product key and 64-bit Windows 7 RC1 DVD from the Microsoft Windows 7 web site:
