scom Monitor vs rule - confusing for management dashboard RRS feed

    Hi

    We have critical application (e.g core banking) that need to inform us if the below services/processes is down

    Critical Services  : fcr , tibco

    Critical Processes : banking.exe , atm.exe

    Requirement :

       The management must see this in the dashboard if server/application having problem

    Now, I confused what I need to use ? if  Monitor or Rule  .... Because I'm just new in the SCOM application

    Please advise

    HI ,

    Always monitor change the health state of the server..Use monitor to monitor the service and the process.

    and you can configure dashboard for the Health State /Alerts.
