  • Hi 

     

    i have private mail server which is working fine internally. Now i want to send & receive mail from external domain .

    can you please let me know what to be register with isp so that i can send & receive mail from external domain .

    If you manage the publically accessible DNS zone for the domain you
    can mane this yourself. You can manage the PTR records if you manage
    the in-addr.arps DNS zone for your network.

    A domain is just a name. A relay is a SMTP server that will accept
    messages for a domain and the send (relay) them to the next hop.
     
    >3.after registering domain name mx record will update in my private server or ISP server.
     
    It will update the DNS zone on any server that's a primary or
    secondary DNS for the zone.

  • You need a reverse DNS record for the external IP of you Exchange Server. Check this out: http://joserebellon.wordpress.com/.

    You also need to register MX record, A record.

    2.the difrence between smtp relay & smtp domain .

    3.after registering domain name mx record will update in my private server or ISP server.
