Window Defender Update Error

Is there anyone there who can provide an answer as for why I cannot update my Windows Defender. It states that because of internet connection failed but before when I was using my PC it easily updates but now since when I upgraded it from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 the whole problem about this updates start.

Open Action Center in Control Panel and under troubleshoot , run Windows Update troubleshooter.

Try to update manually only once.. download definition file from here and double click it in your pc 32-bit | 64-bit

How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system

Then try to update regularly.. By any chance do you have another realtime protection or antivirus/security product?
