Windows Server Essentials Management Service (WseMgmtSvc)

Recently, I installed current Windows Updates.  After installation a restart was required, after doing so the Management Console service had stopped and cannot be started.

I un-installed the Windows Updates that were installed and the Management Console service still will not start.  Please Advise.

  • Hi,

What is the error message when you failed to start the Windows Server Essentials Management Service?

If problem happens after installing update, if possible, I would recommend you to restore the system from backup if there is system backup available.

    Besides, please check below configuration:
    1. Open service’s properties – Log On tab, make sure it is configured to log on as Local system account.
    2. Make sure that Windows Server Essentials Provider Registry Service is running, or, you can manually re-start it to check the result.

    Best Regards,
    Eve Wang

The Windows Server Essentials Computer Backup Service. Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

  • That one is expected and normal informational message and can be ignored. The SCM is just reporting the state change to the system event log.
